Dear customers, we are working on improving our website. One of these improvements is the email you receive alerting when a package is on the way. This only meant a package for you was manifested and delivered to the airline, even if it was delayed for any reason, you did not get any updates as to when it actually arrived in Roatan.
Now you will receive an update with the pertinent information of the package plus the note "READY FOR PICK UP AT RASX". This will save you a trip or having to call just to find out if your package is here or not.
Other changes have to do with the invoice for packages. It won't be long before customs drops the hammer on the clearance process. In order for you to identify which package we are asking you an invoice for, we will add the original tracking number that brought the package to our warehouse. This avoids misunderstandings on what it is, since the product descriptions have not been the best. Now you will have a specific/positive way to narrow the search for the invoice we need to clear your package. The tracking number will be added to the description column.

Dear customers, Semana Santa like every year, shuts down a good portion of economic activity on Rotan. Our shipping schedule was limited by space available on the planes. This along with additional problems with both airlines, Cayman and Avianca, resulted in our shipments getting stuck in Miami and Gran Cayman.
To make matters worse, you receive an email alr alerting you that a package is on the way, this is all fine and dandy but the problem comes from the time you get this email and the time that package is actually arrives. When the entire shipment is delivered to the airline, we generate a cargo manifest. This manifest is uploaded to our web site, where automatically an email is sent to you with details about that package incuding the date uploaded and whether it needs an invoice or not.
The problem happens when there is a delay, currently we do not account for that, so this notice ONLY to tells you a package for you is in the shipment that was delivered to the airline with final destination, Roatan. It does not mean it left Miami, just that the airline has it. We are working on fixing this problem. The other issue is the invoices, customs will not process a shipment if ONE of the packages in the shipment is missing the invoice, so please send us the invoice as soon as you make the purchase, this will help us in getting your package out as soon as possible.

AIR SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS REGISTERED ACCOUNTS
When you open your account www.facebook.com/LibertadYrefundacionLIBRE/photos/pcb.2196250897308978/2196250873975647/, we will assign you a-BOX number or RAS # at a physical address in Miami’s business district. It is very important to include your RAS # to identify the destination. For air service, the weight restriction on size or weight is 150 pounds and 40’ height X 30’ width X 30’ long. As a guide, anything thing that can be delivered by UPS, Fedex, DHL, Airborne and US Postal Service will be accepted. Please call us or email us for general cargo larger/bulky items you may choose to ship by ocean. See instructions on Consolidated Ocean section.
For outgoing mail be sure your return address is the same (as below) in case a piece of mail has to be returned to sender for any reason. If it is returned, it will come back to us in Miami and then to back to you. From our main office in Roatan, we provide all the services found in any US post office.
If you are sending or receiving valuable items, important documents, checks etc. by US Post Office please send Certified/Registered with return receipt and /or internet tracking option. When receiving any package ask for and retain the tracking number assigned to your letter or package. This is the only way to trace mail or packages in case they do not arrive as expected. Without a tracking number, we are limited to what can be done to locate the package or piece of mail. To better serve you, we have two different addresses:

Ocean service is now available, this type of service will be identified by the word OCEAN, this label will direct the Miami office to separate the package for consolidated ocean service from air Service. We also have special offers for particular month we will use the month as identifying code SEPT, NOV, XMAS etc.
OPTIONS FOR REGISTERED ACCOUNTS
Customs duties are billed separately
$20.00 per month two and one half (2.5) pounds allowable weight for incoming and outgoing mail per month. Packages are charged separately; additional weight charged at $3.50 per pound.

*Rates include transport from Miami to Roatan. Documentation, insurance, US security inspection and Honduran customs import duties will be billed separately.

1. NON-REGISTERED USERS PAY $6.85 PER POUND FOR PARCELS WITH MINIMUM CHARGE OF $9.00 ON INCOMING PACKAGES. USE RAS-600 FOR GENERAL DELIVERY.
2. NON-REGISTERED USERS PAY $3.50 PER LETTER, $6.00 FOR LARGE ENVELOPES FOR INCOMING. POSTAGE IS EXTRA FOR OUTGOING MAIL. ADDITIONAL SERVICES SUCH AS CERTIFIED, RETURN RECEIPT OR EXPRESS MAIL IS CHARGED SEPARATELY.
3. NO DANGEROUS GOODS ACCEPTED SUCH AS PAINTS, FLAMMABLE FLUIDS OR GASES, ETC.
4. IMPORT CUSTOM DUTIES WILL BE BILLED SEPARATELY.

CONSOLIDATED OCEAN FREIGHT
Consolidation of freight is a common practice that allows a company to pool together shipments from different individuals into one larger shipment. This practice offers a lower price for all participants since the consolidators is able to command a better rate by committing to buy shipping space at bulk rates. Another savings to the individual is the cost of documentation, since each shipment requires its own paperwork regardless of value or size. As an individual you rely on the vessel owner/operator to prepare the documentation and pay the charge for his work. A consolidator assumes the responsibility to prepare the paperwork and by doing so the different shipments become one incurring only one expense.
Ocean freight is measured and charged differently than air freight. The main factor is how much volume or space the box occupies in the shipping container. The box is measured in inches on three dimensions, multiplied and divided by a specific factor.
Length x Width x Height = Cubic Feet
12 inches X 12 Inches X 12 inches = One cubic foot
The vessel owner / operator charges by cubic feet or meters, there is a minimum shipping charge in addition to the documentation charge, and other related charges. RasXpress rates are all inclusive (freight, security and fuel surcharge). The only additional charge will be customs duties if any, depending on the commodity being shipped.
